The Joshua Project: An Aleph Outreach

Meet our Aleph Surf & Aleph Creatives kids from Joshua Project. Most of these guys are street or township kids from JBay.  They are a part of an organization called Joshua Project (JP).

The Joshua Project has been a safe haven for vulnerable children in Jeffreys Bay since 1998. At JP they receive love, support, education, and practical skills training.

The name Joshua means: ‘God saves’ and serves as a constant reminder to us that God alone can save the children at risk in our communities. We can only serve as a place of refuge where these children can come to receive acceptance and support in a caring environment provided by people who are passionate about kids and believe that they also should have hope for a better future.

Today the project owns a building containing offices, classrooms, a kitchen, ministry and child care rooms, ablution facilities and a skills development centre. The children daily receive food, education, spiritual care and the opportunity to develop their skills. There is a need for more activities to be added to their daily operations – that is why Aleph came alongside Joshua Project. We now provide recreation, surf, art and education through life skills to these youths.

Aleph is so excited about these talented young people and believe that some amazing artwork is on the way. Whether it is on a wave or on a canvas, it will be revealed soon…
