This page is dedicated to these incredible individuals who have contributed to ALEPH SURF over the years!

Alex Reynolds – Aleph Surf Ambassador
San Diego, California

After spending two years in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa working with Aleph Surf and Christian Surfers Africa as the Africa Correspondent. During his time in South Africa, Alex realized the potential for surfing to positively impact people’s lives, and it is this passion that gets him excited to work with the ISA and serve its mission to develop surfing across the globe.

Alex, a passionate surfer who tries to spend as much time in the water as on land, studied Marketing and Communications at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He also has extensive experience working as a surf coach, serving in adaptive surfing programs, and working with Aleph Surf – an organization that uses surfing to mentor and teach life skills to disadvantaged youth. As the Membership Assistant, he will take all his experience and knowledge to further develop the ISA’s Educational Programs and Membership initiatives.

DUSTIN PUNCHES – Surf Coach & Facilitator
San Diego, California

Born in Cameroon as an MK kid (missionary kid), Dustin has always had his roots and heart in Africa. After graduating from High School in small town Texas, he set out west chasing a dream to surf and play guitar with homeless people. San Diego was the perfect stage for both, and he quickly fell in love with a community of outdoor enthusiasts who loved surfing, rock climbing, backpacking, making music and living simply. Through University and the year following he worked as a writing tutor, a summer surf instructor with OB Surf and Skate, and an Instructor with a local nonprofit, Outdoor Outreach. In June of 2012 while teaching with OB Surf and Skate, Dustin met Rehgert and Vanessa who were in San Diego for the month promoting Aleph at Hume Lake Christian Camp. He was immediately struck by the presence of the Holy Spirit that Rehgert carried. At the end of the month, Dustin invited Rehgert for dinner at my apartment in OB, where he shared the vision God has put on his life with Aleph to build strong foundations in the lives of at-risk youth through surfing and mentorship. After sharing his story, Rehgert invited Dustin to come out and volunteer with Aleph, opening the door for the season God has him in now. Just 23, Dustin gets stoked about coffee, surfing, music, climbing, backpacking, and deep, late-night conversations (preferably accompanied by coffee). His life’s vision is to follow Jesus, learn to love people and live simply. One day at a time.

CODY ROGERS – Film Maker

Cody is from Columbus, Ohio. He studied Graphic Design at The Ohio State University, and soon after moved to Santa Cruz, CA. While working as a videographer for Mount Hermon Christian Camp, he met and married his wife Katie. Through their engagement and first few months of marriage, they felt so blessed by The Lord. They felt led to use their blessings to help others, so they began looking for a place to volunteer. Through Katie’s connections in South Africa (having been there twice before) they got in contact with Aleph. God continued to take care of the timing, expenses, and travel as they planned their trip. They spent 3 months in Jeffreys Bay, getting to know the kids, surfing, and shooting lots of video. Cody did some design work as well as shooting and editing videos while he was here. Cody returned to work at eBay in San Jose, but continues to help Aleph where he can. Cody and Katie are so grateful for the time they were able to spend in J-bay and for the awesome things God is doing through Aleph.
